The Vinod Gupta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur is organizing an online, short term, weekend course on
Introduction to R Programming and Data Analytics from November 7 to 27, 2020. Anyone can enroll for this course, and since this course will be conducted during the weekends it would be easier for someone who is working during the weekdays, or have regular classes, to be able to complete this course without disturbing their regular schedule.
Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, is a public technical and research university established by the government of India in 1951. It is the first of the IITs to be established and is recognized as an Institute of National Importance. In 2019 it was awarded the status of the Institute of Eminence by the government of India.
Course Objectives
This program will teach the participants hands-on usage of R programming.
It will also teach the participants data analytics skills and its applications in real-world situations.
The program will help the participants use the acquired skills in solving assignments that will mimic real-life case studies.
Course Content
Introduction to Data Analytics, Data Handling with R - 3 hrs
More Data Handling with R - 3 hrs
Introduction to Probability and Statistics, Distributions - 3 hrs
Hypothesis Testing with R Programing - 3 hrs
Regression with R - 3 hrs

Up to 6 hour session every weekends (Saturday 3 hours and Sunday 3 hours).

Pedagogy
The methods consist of lecture sessions, hands-on-exercises, discussion on cases, and live problems.
Academicians with proven knowledge, Industrial experience, and demonstrable and related areas will deliver lectures and analyze case studies.

Category-1 (Students): At least 1st-year B.Tech undergraduate pass out.
